On 19-20 November, the 2022 Symposium on the Interactive Development Between Hainan Free Trade Port and World Literature and the 5th Annual Conference of the Comparative Literature and World Literature Society of Hainan Province was held. The conference was organized in a hybrid method with the offline venue at Boao. More than 160 experts and scholars from around 30 universities and research institutes across China, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shaanxi Normal University and Central China Normal University, attended the academic event.
The School of Humanities and Communication of USY was not only present as one of the members of the Comparative Literature and World Literature Society of Hainan Province. With the Society's decision, the School of Humanities and Communication will host the sixth annual conference next year. Prof. Zhu Qinfu, Vice President of USY attended the conference and took over the Society's flag.
The agenda of the conference included "Keynote Speech", "Young Scholars Forum", "Doctoral Students Forum" and "National Young Teachers and Master Students Forum” and other items. The sub-topics of cutting-edge trends in the development of world literature, regional literature diversification and the development of film and television literature were discussed on the Symposium. Prof. Wang Sheng and Associate Prof. Xiao Fangfang attended the conference and delivered speeches on the sub-topics.
